    Resource request warnings

Resource requests often stall because a field that the staffing process relies on was left empty, for example the resource group that decides who picks the request up, the feedback deadline, or the requested capacity. decídalo can point these out without forcing anyone to fill them in: the fields stay optional, and the request can still be created and saved.

Which fields are watched is configured in the ‘Administration’ menu item under ‘Resource management’ and ‘Resource request warnings’.

Note: Only users with the permission to manage data fields can change this configuration. Every user sees the resulting warnings.

The page lists the resource request fields that can be left empty and filled in later. Fields that are mandatory, hidden, or filled by decídalo itself, such as the request status or the counts of soft booked and confirmed candidates, are not listed, because a warning on them would never go away. Tick ‘Warn if empty’ for each field that should be pointed out when it has no value. Nothing is ticked until someone ticks it, and a change takes effect immediately for all users.

    Where the warnings appear

On a resource request that is missing one or more of the configured fields:

    • On the Overview tab, a banner above the tabs names the fields that are still empty. It belongs to that tab, since that is where the fields are, and it can be closed for the current visit; it reappears the next time the request is opened.
    • An orange warning triangle sits next to each empty field, both in the field overview and in the sidebar. Hovering it shows which field is meant. The triangle disappears as soon as the field is filled in.

The same warning triangle appears inside the field while a resource request is being created, and it updates as soon as something is typed into the field. It never blocks creation.

Note: Rich text fields such as ‘Description’ have no input the triangle can sit in, so they are pointed out on the resource request itself rather than in the creation dialog.
