AI Cleanup Suggestions in decídalo
The AI Cleanup Suggestions page lets administrators tidy up the company's skill catalogue with the help of AI. Run an analysis, then accept or reject each proposed change: duplicates merged, missing translations filled in, typos corrected, descriptions rewritten, miscategorised skills re-assigned, and entries that don't belong in a professional catalogue removed. The AI only proposes; nothing is applied until you confirm.
Opening the page
Open the Skills page from the main menu and click AI cleanup suggestions in the toolbar above the skill list. The button is only visible to users with the 'Manage skills, certificates and roles' permission. Viewing the skill catalog alone does not include the cleanup assistant.
Running an analysis
Click Run AI analysis in the toolbar to open the confirmation dialog.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Don't suggest merges for core skills | The AI will not propose merging your core skills with other entries. Use this when you want to protect curated core skills from any merge proposals. |
| Reset all rejected suggestions | Previously rejected suggestions are deleted and may be proposed again. The AI's learned preferences from those rejections are also cleared. Use this when you want a clean slate. |
Click Run analysis to start. The analysis runs in the background and can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours depending on the size of your catalogue, and you can safely leave the page and come back later.
Note: Running a new analysis discards every current pending suggestion, including any generated automatically by recent imports or transfers.
Reviewing pending suggestions
Once the analysis finishes, suggestions appear in the table. Each row describes one proposed change to one skill.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Skill | The skill the suggestion is about. Click the name to open the skill info drawer with full context. |
| Core skill | Whether the skill is currently a core skill. |
| Profiles | How many user profiles currently use this skill. |
| Change | The type of change being suggested (see the table below). |
| Current value | What the skill looks like today. |
| Suggested value | What the AI proposes. For merge suggestions, the target skill name; for category suggestions, the proposed category. |
| Reason | A short explanation in your interface language of why the AI made this suggestion. |
| Actions | Accept applies the change to the catalogue. Reject moves the suggestion to the rejected list. |
Suggestion types
| Type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Merge into | The source skill is merged into another existing skill. The source skill is removed and every profile, CV, and project that referenced it is rewritten to point at the target. |
| Add translation name | A missing language translation is added to the skill. |
| Change name | An existing translation of the skill name is replaced, typically to fix typos or capitalisation (e.g. javascript → JavaScript). |
| Change description | The skill's description is replaced. Only proposed when the current description is missing, very short, or factually wrong. |
| Change category | The skill is assigned a category from your existing catalogue. Proposed for skills with no category at all, and for skills whose current category is clearly unfitting. If the current one is plausible, no suggestion is made. Only categories that already exist are proposed; the AI never creates new ones. Besides the full analysis, this check also runs on its own after a category is edited by hand (see Automatic background analyses). |
| Remove | The skill does not belong in a professional skill catalogue (e.g. a language skill, a hobby, or a test entry) and is removed. |
Note: Deleting a skill category also discards any pending Change category suggestions that propose that category, or that concern a skill filed under it, because neither could be applied any more.
Accepting or rejecting
- Accept applies the proposed change to the catalogue immediately. Merges and deletions are permanent: every profile and CV reference is updated, and there is no undo.
- Reject moves the suggestion to the rejected list. It stays on file so you can restore it later, and helps the AI learn your preferences for future analyses.
Reject all
Click Reject all in the toolbar to reject every pending suggestion at once. When filters are active, the button is labelled Reject filtered and only rejects matching rows. A confirmation dialog shows how many suggestions are about to be rejected.
Skill info drawer
Click a skill name in any row to open a side drawer with the full context of that skill. The drawer is read-only and always shows the current state, not the state at suggestion time.
| Section | Contents |
|---|---|
| General | Whether the skill is a core skill, whether it is translatable, its category, and its description. |
| Names per language | Every existing translation of the skill name, listed per language. |
| Audit | Who created the skill, when, and who last edited it. |
The Translatable flag matters for translation suggestions: if a skill is not translatable, the AI keeps its original name across every language rather than translating it.
Viewing and restoring rejected suggestions
Toggle Show rejected in the toolbar to switch to the rejected list. Each row shows the same columns plus a Revert action that moves the suggestion back to pending for review.
Note: Reverting only restores the suggestion to pending, so you still need to Accept it to apply the change.
Automatic background analyses
Two checks run on their own, without anyone clicking Run AI analysis.
From the moment the feature is available in your environment, every newly added skill is automatically checked by the AI, with no manual action needed. The check covers skills added by users from their profile, created through company-profile transfers, or brought in via imports. Suggestions appear in the pending list alongside those from a manual analysis.
Separately, whenever an administrator sets, changes, or clears a skill's category by editing the skill, the AI re-examines that one skill's category shortly afterwards. Only the category is re-checked, and no other suggestion type is generated. Clearing a category counts as a change, so the AI will usually propose a new one; reject that suggestion if the skill is meant to stay uncategorised.
Note: Skills that existed in your catalogue before this feature was released are not analysed automatically. Run a manual analysis once with Run AI analysis to cover them; after that, every newly added skill is covered automatically.
Recovering from a failed analysis
If an analysis fails, the page shows a red banner with a Run analysis again button that stays visible until you start a new analysis. If an analysis appears stuck for more than a day, the running card surfaces a Restart analysis link instead. Use it to discard the stuck run and start fresh.
Disclaimer: This feature uses Artificial Intelligence (AI). While AI improves catalogue quality significantly, it may not always interpret your data flawlessly. Always review each suggestion before accepting, especially merges and deletions, which cannot be undone.
