Field Presets
Field presets prefill selected fields in the project and resource request creation dialogs with values from the creating user's profile. This is useful for organizations with multiple units in different countries: a consultant from the German unit who creates a project automatically gets their own country, business unit, legal entity and other organizational values filled in, instead of leaving them empty.
All presets are disabled by default, and nothing changes for your organization until an administrator enables a preset.
Configuring field presets
Select Field presets in the Data Fields area of the Administration menu.
The page shows one row per supported field (Country, Service line, Business unit, Location, Legal entity and Practice area) with one checkbox per creation dialog:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Field | The data field that can be prefilled. |
| Project | Enable to prefill the field in the project creation dialog. |
| Resource request | Enable to prefill the field in the resource request creation dialog. |
Check a box to prefill that field from the creating user's profile in the respective creation dialog. For the Project column, a field that is not yet shown in the project creation dialog is added automatically and a notification confirms this; you can review and change which fields appear at any time using the Show in creation dialog column on the Data Fields page of the Project object. The Resource request column only controls prefilling; the resource request creation dialog already contains all supported fields.
Unchecking a box only stops the prefilling; the field stays visible in the creation dialog until you hide it on the Data Fields page.
Note: When a resource request is created from a project, values already set on the project take precedence over the creator's profile values. Profile values only fill fields the project does not set.
Prefilled values behave like any other form value: they remain editable and can be cleared before saving. If a value is empty on the creating user's profile, the field simply stays empty.
