Comments
Comments allow team members to discuss entities directly within decídalo. Each entity that supports comments offers a Comments view where users can start discussions, reply to existing threads, and mention colleagues to draw their attention. On a resource request this is a Comments tab; on a booking it is a Comments side panel opened from the booking header, and from the booking panel in a project's team members list.
Note: Comments are currently available on resource requests and bookings. Additional entities will be supported in future releases.
Note: Whether a user can open a resource request's Comments tab is governed by the ‘Resource request candidates and comments view’ permission, and a booking's Comments panel by the ‘Booking comments view’ permission (see Permission concept). On a booking, the booked person never sees the comments on their own booking, even with the permission granted, because booking comments are internal coordination about that person.
Writing a comment
To add a comment, open the entity's Comments view and click the "Write a public comment…" field. A rich-text editor expands with the following formatting options:
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Bold | Applies bold formatting to selected text. |
| Italic | Applies italic formatting. |
| Underline | Underlines selected text. |
| Strikethrough | Applies strikethrough formatting. |
| Bullet list | Creates an unordered list. |
| Numbered list | Creates an ordered list. |
| Undo / Redo | Reverts or re-applies the last edit. |
Click "Add" to post the comment, or "Cancel" to discard it.
Replying to a comment
Each comment thread shows a "Reply" button below the last message. Click it to open an inline reply editor. Type your reply and click "Reply" to post it, or "Cancel" to discard.
Replies appear indented beneath the original comment in chronological order, forming a conversation thread.
Mentioning users
Type @ followed by a name to mention a colleague. A dropdown appears with matching users; select one to insert an @-mention pill. Mentioned users receive an email notification with a direct link to the comment.
Who you can mention
You can mention anyone who can sign in to decídalo. People records without an active login (for example, contacts imported for staffing purposes only) are hidden from the dropdown, because they cannot receive the notification email.
Note: Mention notifications are mandatory and cannot be disabled by the recipient.
Editing a comment
To edit one of your own comments, click the ⋮ menu on the comment and select "Edit". The comment body becomes editable. Make your changes and click "Save".
Edited comments display an (edited) indicator next to the timestamp. Hover over it to see the exact edit time.
Note: If you add new @-mentions during an edit, only the newly mentioned users are notified. Users who were already mentioned do not receive a duplicate notification.
Deleting a comment
To delete a comment, click the ⋮ menu and select "Delete". A confirmation dialog appears before the comment is permanently removed.
When deleting a thread root that has replies, the entire thread is removed. If other users have replied to your comment, the delete option is disabled, so you must ask them to remove their replies first, or have an administrator handle it.
Thread notifications
When another user replies to a thread you started, you receive an email notification with a link to the reply. This notification can be disabled in your notification preferences.
Comments posted on a resource request also notify the configured recipients for that resource request, unless they were already notified via a mention or thread reply. The same applies to comments on a booking: the configured recipients (resource manager, project manager, team lead, resource group manager) are notified, but never the booked person. Both notifications are disabled by default and are switched on per client in the administration.
Deep links
Email notifications contain a direct link to the relevant comment. Clicking the link opens the entity's Comments view (the tab on a resource request, the side panel on a booking) and scrolls to the referenced thread, which is highlighted with a coloured outline for easy identification.
