CV Parser

The CV Parser reads an uploaded CV and writes the extracted data into a decídalo profile, so a profile does not have to be typed in from scratch.

Important: Importing data overwrites existing information on the profile. Fields that your organisation maintains centrally, marked with a lock icon, are not affected. See Check Your Profile for the consultant-facing walkthrough.

CV Parser or Onboarding Assistant?

When you upload a document, decídalo offers two routes and you choose one:

  • The CV Parser extracts the data from the document and writes it to the profile.
  • The Onboarding Assistant guides you through the profile step by step, suggests roles, industries, skills and certificates, and lets you review everything before anything is saved.

If you want to review each suggestion before it lands on the profile, use the Onboarding Assistant. If you want the CV transferred directly, use the CV Parser.

Where to start it

Entry point Where
Header banner On a profile, click Import Data From CV in the header banner. This is the route described in Check Your Profile.
Accounts tab On a profile, open the Accounts tab and use Import profile data from CV. See Profile.
During setup As part of bulk onboarding, see the Setup Guide.

What gets extracted

Beyond master data, the parser can also transfer additional profile data if the CV contains it. Documented examples are projects, certificates and skills, see the Setup Guide.

Two further behaviours are worth knowing:

  • Projects created by the parser are flagged as not central, because projects cannot be uniquely identified from a CV and the same project may look different in different CVs. See Projects.
  • Companies named in the CV are matched against the Brandfetch service and added to the company list. See Companies.

Prerequisites

  • The CV Parser must be activated for your organisation, and using it requires the Enable CV Parser permission. The Profile creation permission additionally depends on it for creating profiles from a CV. See Permission concept.

After parsing

Walk the profile and check the result before considering it complete:

  • Profile: master data, career, projects.
  • AI Skills: let the AI extract further skills from your project descriptions.
  • Certificates: check names against the catalogue and add expiry dates.
  • Trainings: check names and dates.
